Gift ideas from Bluebird Goods 11/28/11
Everyone has folks on their list who are hard to shop for. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite gift items from my shop in hopes that they may provide a little inspiration.
From left to right, starting at the top:
Vintage-style enamel thermometers: Birds, chickens, butterflies, angels…I’ve yet to meet a woman who doesn’t love one of these things. And what a pretty touch to her garden or just outside a window to cheer up a gray winter morning.
The ultimate gardener’s friend: Our folding garden stool comes ready-to-go with a set of any sort of tool your favorite gardener needs at their fingertips. Bonus points for the storage under the seat. Could be filled with seeds or bulbs for a special extra touch.
Heirloom-quality canvas picnic basket: Here in Chicago we earn our warm weather, big time. This is an item most folks wouldn’t splurge on for themselves, but what a treasured gift that you know will be used to create many happy and relaxing moments. And what better gift than that?
Give a wish: This darling charm is made from vintage dictionary illustrations and soldered between two pieces of glass. I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t appreciate that present! I also can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t use it to wish for more wishes.
Amy Butler tote: A gal just cannot have too many totes. During the travel season, pick this stunning and cheerful tote up and stock it with a soft Pashmina, some slipper socks, a couple of great magazines, and there you go. It’s her airline survival kit.
GurglePot: Great for the entertainer, flower-arranger, whimsical-type, or the fun person who has everything…except a fish jug that gurgles when you pour from it. Reproduced from vintage French models, sure to be a conversation starter. I have literally never used this around anyone who didn’t grin ear to ear when they hear it do it’s thing. It just makes people happy.
Church puzzles: Who doesn’t love a simple game that you can get lost in for hours? For the busy mom, she’ll be so glad to have this in her purse when she’s sitting in a waiting room, on a plane, or while the kids wait for dinner.
