Bajaj Chetak Scooter
I am the proud owner of an adorable little red scooter from India. In the early to mid 1960s Vespa outsourced to India to build Vespa Sprints. The Indian factory had to uphold Vespa’s quality assurance and factory system. Eventually Bajaj purchased the factory from Vespa. After this happened the Bajaj badge began to appear. At first, with any brand transition, the bikes had a Vespa and a Bajaj badge on the legshield. Unlike the vintage Vespas, the Chetak is a 4 stroke engine and a much quieter ride, more like gliding through the environment than riding a lawn mower. -Not that there’s a thing in the world wrong with a 2 stroke buzz. :)
