One of my New Year's Eve to-do list items was to find a large workspace. We've been paying rent on a storage space and a parking spot for the camper, and with the addition of this new studio/storage/camper spot we will actually decrease a bill, which worked out kind of well.
Anyway, so I'm trying to tell you that I rented an airplane hangar. One-third of a hangar, to be precise, which is plenty of space for me.
Funny...My grandfather being one of the first licensed pilots on the country, my father being a pilot...

As you do your Christmas shopping this year, I hope you'll give some consideration not only to small business brick-and-mortars, but to small shop owners who have set up their business online.
My shop, Bluebird Goods, is made up of me, a few wire racks of stock in my basement, and my friend Spencer who does all of our stocking and shipping. Someday we'll have a big, fancy boutique, but for now we're having a blast with the website. I hope we can have the privilege of your patronage this holiday season. Thank you!

This morning I'm running around, packing stuff up from the store, loading everything into my car, trying to remember not to forget my toothbrush (and I probably will anyway) and heading out to the RePurpose-sponsored Winter Bazaar. I'll be selling a wide assortment of items from my shop, Bluebird Goods, so come out, browse around, have some fun, buy some stuff! Hope to see you there!

Oh man! If you've ever seen the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, you know how huge just one floor is. I paced up and down every single hall on two floors today. I don't know if this is still the case, but the Mart used to have more square footage than any other building in North America. That's a LOT of walking.
Anyhoo...
I found many really cute additions for the shop, including product from two new vendors who specialize in reproduction vintage-style glassware. I ordered a ton of new stuff including ...

I LOVE this show! When I decided to open the shop, this is the first show I went to a couple of years ago. It was such a great experience that I look forward to it each season. I even took the day off work so I could indulge in an entire day of browsing the largest wholesale market in the country.
Hope to find lots of new goodies for BluebirdGoods.com.
Superhappyfunday!
PS: No detailed vintage cocktail for today. Just go pop open a glass of bubbly (champagne or prosecco) and add a dash of Crème...

Recently I decided to finally put everything that I know from my day gig as an Interactive Creative Director to work and build myself a little shop called Bluebird Goods. I'm selling the fun stuff I like to collect for my own home. Someday I'd love to have a brick and mortar store of my own, but for now I'm getting a tremendous amount of joy out of this. Going to market, setting up wholesale accounts, developing the shopping cart process, photographing product, writing the descriptions...It's like getting to use all ...

I've been busy, busy, busy! First on the list is my new online store, Bluebird Goods. After moving, I got so inspired by this 1927 bungalow with it's original stained glass windows and kitchen cabinets. I want to capture this environment and blend it with what I grew up around at my grandmother's home on the Gulf Coast. I love making things, fixing up old furniture, and using antiques to decorate with whenever possible. Old things have so much more character than new, plus you have to hunt for the right thing. ...
